"It's as if the brief interludes that we hear in their songs, where the spell of sole instrumental playing is broken, are highly suspect, as in the possibility that they are the works of other forces stepping invisibly up to the running microphones in the room and giving their harmonies or condolences in the case of these often sad and lonely songs. The brief instances when human voices make their appearance, it's a form of communion, of bridging the feelings coming from the violin, the piano, the guitars, the cello with those of the spirits." ~www.Daytrotter.com

We had been meeting weekly to jam and discuss songs during Chris' Fall semester in college and before the Winter break the idea arose to try to write songs as a real songwriting team. Sitting face to face, I brought in some crude lyric sheets with guitar chords scribbled on them and asked if Chris liked any of them enough to make them into good songs. In one afternoon we bashed through three or four of the tunes with Chris improving the rough melodies immensely by adding new chord changes and rhythms.

BIO:

Our last names weren't always Lenning, but we took an oath and made it so. We wear it for the sick and lonely old. For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them cold. Jason writes songs and sings them while Ross, Karl, Zach, and Cory work their magic on bass, drums, banjo, and guitar respectively. Mid-tempo folk-rock with infectious melodies and inviting vocals. Rhythmic strings drizzled with eerie effects. Songs focus on finding beauty and absurdity in the mundane and inanimate.

BIO:

It's been three years since Li'l Cap'n Travis' Glurp Records debut, In All Their Splendor and, from the look of things, it was time well spent. Shimmering with sighs of pedal steel, twangy classic rock licks, and breathy harmonies, their brand-new record, Twilight on Sometimes Island, shows a band firmly in love with the past but by no means looking to repeat it. All the old ghosts are there-a little Beach Boys production, some reverb-drenched '50s rock 'n' roll, and a general sense of good timeyness that feels like the best summer day of your life.
